Thanksgiving in New York

This time last year I was lucky enough to be in New York with my wife, tucking into some deep fried turkey, sweet potatoes and other delights expertly prepared by my sister-in-law and her family. It was a lovely experience. In the days leading up to thanksgiving we spent a few days exploring New York…

A walk by the lake

In the last post I mentioned I had a few days of down time in Kerry. It was great to recharge the batteries and get away from the office. Taking time out is a brilliant creativity boost and I finally got around to trying something that I had wanted to do for a while. Below…

Inch Beach Sand Dunes

Last week I took a few days of (long overdue!) holidays and went to Kerry with my wife for some rest and recuperation. We mostly stayed in Killarney but we did venture out on a day trip to the Dingle Peninsula too. It was Arthur’s day so we got to see some great live music…

A Walk in Dromoland Woods

As much as I love editing photographs, it’s great to get a break from the computer and go get some fresh air. Dromoland is just a short drive from my house and its meandering paths through the woods and golf course make it a great place to go to take some time out and recharge…

Carrauntoohil Climb

The cross above marks the summit of Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain. On Saturday morning a gang of us set off from Cronin’s Yard at the base of the mountain with this cross as our destination. Our spirits were high and so were the clouds surrounding the mountains! Undeterred we ventured on making our way up…

Time for a change

My nephew is working on filling out his CAO form this week. It’s hard to believe that it’s 15 years since I was flicking through college prospectuses (prospecti?) trying to narrow down my choice. I liked art, but I wasn’t very good at it. There were people in my art class that were incredibly talented…
