In August I met with Ennis based “trendy trad” band Socks In The Frying Pan to work with them to create some eye catching, dramatic and fun promotional photography to use for their debut album. I can honestly say I it was one of the most fun photoshoots I’ve done. The guys brought incredible energy…Details
Olivia & Colm’s finished wedding album just arrived so I figured it was about time I showcased some of their wedding photographs! When I had my first meeting with Olivia & Colm to discuss their wedding day I knew it was going to be fabulous. They had planned to get married in Darrara Church in Clonakilty and have their reception in the beautiful Inchydoney Lodge.
Because they were both preparing in Inchydoney Lodge we got to take some photographs in the library of the hotel before moving on to the intimate church service. We got lucky with the weather, it was windy but the sun came out between the clouds to dramatically light up the stunning landscape.
Colm first met Olivia at a party, and once the music kicked off after the meal their party got into full swing. It was one of the busiest and most fun filled dance floors I’ve seen at a wedding this year!
Here are a few of my favourite photographs from their day….
If you are planning your wedding in Inchydoney (or anywhere else!) and you are looking for fun, natural, relaxed photography do say hello!
Vivan and Kelvin are a really sweet couple. They travelled from Kentucky to renew their vows in Bunratty during a once in a lifetime trip around Ireland. Their story was one of the most romantic stories of any couple I’ve met this year (and I’ve heard some great stories!). Vivian had been sick and Kelvin was there to help nurse her back to health and in the process rekindled their love. It was a joy to photograph that love.
After an emotional renewal of vows in Ardcroney Chapel we went for a stroll through Bunratty Folk Park to Bunratty Castle. We stopped along the way to look at some of the old buildings and admire the views. The leaves were just starting to turn a lovely shade of gold and we got some beautiful light filtering through them.
Afterwards, Vivian and Kelvin travelled to Dromoland to enjoy a meal together and celebrate their relationship.
Claire was their wedding planner and she did an amazing job. It’s not easy organising a wedding from another country but it all came together beautifully on the day. The little chapel in Bunratty was the perfect find for their intimate ceremony. As a surprise for her mechanical engineer husband, Vivian hired a 1960 Silver Cloud Rolls to chauffeur them for the day. (Vivian later joked that Kelvin thought the car was probably the best part of the day!)
It was great to meet Nigel, the celebrant, and work with Fiona the makeup artist. It was a great day – thanks again to Vivian and Kelvin for having me there to document it! Here are some of my favourite photographs from the day.Details
In the last post I mentioned I had a few days of down time in Kerry. It was great to recharge the batteries and get away from the office. Taking time out is a brilliant creativity boost and I finally got around to trying something that I had wanted to do for a while. Below…Details
Last week I took a few days of (long overdue!) holidays and went to Kerry with my wife for some rest and recuperation. We mostly stayed in Killarney but we did venture out on a day trip to the Dingle Peninsula too. It was Arthur’s day so we got to see some great live music (by Neon Wolf and Walking On Cars) and we had a lovely chat with Micháel O’Sé in a pub too (author of the Leaving Certificate book “A Thig Ná Thit Orm”). We also enjoyed some Murphy’s Ice Cream in the driving, horizontal rain!
On the way we stopped at Inch beach for a while. It was nice to take some personal photographs for a change. Here are a few little bits and pieces that grabbed my eye along the sand dunes…Details
Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Kerry & Kevin’s destination wedding in Adare, Co. Limerick. They live in San Francisco but Kevin is Irish so they decided to have a lovely family wedding in The Holy Trinity Abbey in Adare. Here is a small pick of some of my favourite photographs from their day…Details
It’s been all weddings weddings weddings recently so it was lovely to take a day off and spend some time with my family for Lia’s christening. Lia is my niece and the first grandchild in our family and she is just gorgeous! And I’m not even biased – it’s true! If you want proof just…Details
Brigitte & Bob were married in Duagh Church and had their reception in the Listowel Arms Hotel. Well, technically, they were married in America a little while earlier but I think the real celebration was in Listowel! 🙂 They had a lovely ceremony in Duagh and made the short trip to Listowel where they were…Details
I’ve been looking forward to sharing this wedding sneak peek with you! When I first met Sinéad and Ger they were renovating an old farmhouse in County Limerick. Their plan was to get married next door in their local church and have a reception in their new house with an adjoining marquee. It was ambitious, but they really pulled it off. Here are some of my favouriteDetails
